Our mission is to preserve New Church audio recordings and make them available to all. We provide audiobooks of works by Emanuel Swedenborg, recordings of New Church sermons, Swedenborgian classes, and more. These offer opportunities for Bible study and spiritual growth, exploring Biblical symbolism and New Church theology.

New Church Audio is a program of The New Church, an international Christian organization.

The New Church is a Christian denomination based on the Bible and the revelation given to Emanuel Swedenborg. We believe that true faith is loving the Lord Jesus Christ by following his teachings and being of service to others.

If you enjoyed listening, please consider making a donation to support this service.

David had been anointed as the next King, but Saul was trying to kill him, and so he had to leave his wife Michal, and his best friend Jonathan, to run away and hide (1 Samuel 20). During this time David wrote many psalms about trusting in God. How can this story about David help us to trust in God as well when things aren’t going the way we want them to? | By Rev. Solomon J. • Making Judgments

Worship Service: Family (may include music) - 23 Apr, 2023

On any given day we are required to make all sorts of judgments - what to wear, what to eat, what to do or say, when to work and play, stay up or go to bed. Judgments come in all shapes and sizes - some help get us through the day, others help us prioritize, and some help build character. We will be looking at the different types of judgment that the Lord speaks about in His Word as a way of helping us make good and useful ones. | By Rev. Derek P. Elphick , Bryn Athyn Cathedral

  • Making Judgments

Worship Service: Sermon only - 23 Apr, 2023

We live in a world of tense political division, of strong partisan animosity. Without even realizing it, we can become a part of this, silently building our case against each other, mentally listing our grievances as to why we can’t get along. And without even realizing it, we put ourselves in danger of pushing God out of the equation. This is why it’s important to revisit what the Lord says in His Word about making judgments. Some judgments are necessary, others are not, and only the Lord can help us navigate between the two. | By Rev. Derek P. Elphick , Bryn Athyn Cathedral

  • Seeing the Lord

Worship Service: Family (may include music) - 16 Apr, 2023

One of the themes of the Easter story is people seeing the Lord, or not seeing the Lord. These stories can stimulate some interesting questions for us to think about: Have you ever seen the Lord? We will look at what positive things we can do to help us see the Lord so that we can learn to love Him and follow Him wherever He leads. | By Rt. Rev. Bradley D. Heinrichs , Bryn Athyn Cathedral

  • Think Like an Angel

Worship Service: Childrens Talk & Adult Sermon - 19 Mar, 2023

Community Service. We tend to think of life in heaven as a future event even though the Lord says we can experience it right now (Luke 17:21). The Lord makes this phenomenon possible by using our intellect, the rational part of our mind, to grow angelic loves in us. It’s a struggle, for sure, because we’re competing against 6,000 thoughts a day (what scientists estimate the daily average to be), many of which aren’t helpful and some of which sabotage our efforts to improve and grow. The Lord wants us to think like an angel because this makes navigating life’s ups and downs much more manageable compared to our clumsy efforts. Let’s explore together how this angelic way of thinking works. | By Rev. Derek P. Elphick , Bryn Athyn Cathedral

  • The Value of Ordinary Work

Worship Service: Sermon only - 12 Mar, 2023

There is something miraculous going on whenever we are engaged in the normal work that we do every day. Understanding what this is may help us to appreciate the miracle of Easter. | By Rev. Jeremy F. Simons , Bryn Athyn Cathedral

  • Anticipating Easter

Worship Service: Childrens Talk & Adult Sermon - 19 Feb, 2023

(Community Service) Certain traditions are already part of the cycle of our year — we remember to be grateful around Thanksgiving in November, we have a variety of different things we do leading up to Christmas, we have a pageant and picnic for New Church Day in June. But what about February and March? Easter arrives sometime in March or April (depending on the year) but we don’t tend to anticipate and prepare for it in nearly the same way. Let’s talk about how the time leading up to Easter could become an equally powerful and significant part of the cycle of our year. | By Rev. Malcolm G. Smith , Bryn Athyn Cathedral
