Our mission is to preserve New Church audio recordings and make them available to all. We provide audiobooks of works by Emanuel Swedenborg, recordings of New Church sermons, Swedenborgian classes, and more. These offer opportunities for Bible study and spiritual growth, exploring Biblical symbolism and New Church theology.

New Church Audio is a program of The New Church, an international Christian organization.

The New Church is a Christian denomination based on the Bible and the revelation given to Emanuel Swedenborg. We believe that true faith is loving the Lord Jesus Christ by following his teachings and being of service to others.

If you enjoyed listening, please consider making a donation to support this service.

  • The Gift of Freedom and Peace

Worship Service: Family (may include music) - 7 Jul, 2024

“The Gift of Freedom and Peace” The Lord is the source of all that is good, and our civil liberties certainly feel good. As we reflect on Independence Day, and the gratitude we may have for our freedoms and the peace in our country, we can consider the kind of freedom and peace the Lord wants to offer us. As He told His disciples "Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." (John 14:27) | By Rev. Pearse M. Frazier , Bryn Athyn Cathedral

  • Natural and Spiritual Freedom

Worship Service: Sermon only - 7 Jul, 2024

As we reflect on Independence Day, we can be grateful for our natural freedom. But natural freedom is not exactly the same as spiritual freedom, which is one of the most precious gifts the Lord offers. From Divine Providence 73 we read "Freedom is wholly a matter of love, so that love and freedom are united... In general, there are three kinds of freedom: natural, rational, and spiritual freedom." How can civil liberties be used to support spiritual freedom? | By Rev. Pearse M. Frazier , Bryn Athyn Cathedral

We will be focusing on the phrase in the Lord’s prayer: “… as in heaven, so upon the earth…” and what this sacred promise means to us as a worldwide church organization as we say our goodbyes and go back out into the world. | By Rev. Derek P. Elphick , Bryn Athyn Cathedral

  • “High Walls, Open Gates"

Worship Service: Family (may include music) - 23 Jun, 2024

(Rev. 21:9-25) The New Jerusalem has high walls to proclaim the truth of the Word and open gates welcoming everyone into the city. Why have high walls when the gates never close? The Lord wants us to understand how both are important if we are going to be the church. | By Rev. Scott I. Frazier , Bryn Athyn Cathedral

  • Beasts of the Land and Sea

Worship Service: Sermon only - 23 Jun, 2024

"Beast of the Sea, Beast of the Land" These two beasts are negative images of laity and clergy. By understanding the warnings involved, both groups can cooperate with the Lord to be His church on earth. We can also reject these beasts in our own lives to join Him in His heavenly kingdom. | By Rev. Scott I. Frazier , Bryn Athyn Cathedral

  • “I Saw Heaven Opened...”

Worship Service: Family (may include music) - 16 Jun, 2024

“I Saw Heaven Opened...” (Rev. 19:11). The strange and mysterious symbols in the book of Revelation depict the birth, struggle and growth of the New Church on earth. The joyful refrain, “I saw heaven opened,” ushers in the wonderful news that the Word, the Sacred Scriptures, can now be seen in heaven’s light in a way like never before. This is cause for celebration. | By Rev. Derek P. Elphick , Bryn Athyn Cathedral

  • The Power of Symbols

Worship Service: Sermon only - 16 Jun, 2024

Symbols, like pictures, speak a thousand words. This is especially true for symbols in the Word – they hold great power and personal significance to us because they embody spiritual values and attitudes we wish to adopt and emulate. The symbols of the Word, especially in the book of Revelation, remind us of what’s truly important in life which is why we rejoice at the refrain, “I saw heaven opened…” (Revelation 9:11). | By Rev. Derek P. Elphick , Bryn Athyn Cathedral

  • An Open Door

Worship Service: Family (may include music) - 9 Jun, 2024

What does it take to walk through the door to heaven that the Lord holds open to us? Our focus on Sunday will be on responding to the Lord’s invitation by steadfastly putting effort into doing as the Lord asks. | By Rt. Rev. Peter Martin Buss, Jr. , Bryn Athyn Cathedral

  • Hold Fast to What You Have

Worship Service: Sermon only - 9 Jun, 2024

(Revelation 3:7-13) The people of the church in Philadelphia were praised for their perseverance in the midst of struggle. They were commanded to “hold fast” to what they have. We are called to a kind of spiritual tenaciousness that has us rely on the Lord and the things in His Word, and to the extent that we can we will be blessed. | By Rt. Rev. Peter Martin Buss, Jr. , Bryn Athyn Cathedral

  • Plain Talk

Worship Service: Family (may include music) - 2 Jun, 2024

For thousands of years knowledge about the Lord, the afterlife, angels and devils, faith and charity has been clouded with a certain degree of mystery and confusion. One of the promises of the New Church faith is that what was once a mystery can now be understood plainly. The Lord says, “I have spoken to you in figurative language; but the time is coming when I will no longer speak to you in figurative language… I will tell you plainly…” (John 16:25). Plain talk seems like something we’d welcome anytime but is that always the case? | By Rev. Derek P. Elphick , Bryn Athyn Cathedral

  • Seeking Clarity

Worship Service: Sermon only - 2 Jun, 2024

We all crave clarity – no one goes in search of confusion. We’ve been wired to seek knowledge, truth, so that we may understand and understand ever more clearly. The Lord’s revelations (Old, New Testament, Writings) are a time-lapsed, sequential, unfolding of truth, moving from “figurative” language to “plain” language. This process has taken thousands of years to unfold but why so long? The Lord wishes to tell us “plainly” about Himself (John 16:25) and guide us “into all truth” (John 16:13). Is this something we can handle? Clarity can be freeing and threatening. | By Rev. Derek P. Elphick , Bryn Athyn Cathedral

  • Know Your Spiritual Enemies: The Assyrians

Worship Service: Family (may include music) - 26 May, 2024

The Assyrians were a large and powerful nation—not just another neighboring nation to squabble with, but an international super-power. The Assyrians represent something very powerful within us: our rational mind—our ability to figure things out and think things through. Our rational mind can be a powerful enemy to our religious life that takes us into spiritual captivity or it can be a powerful ally. Let’s learn from the Lord how to have the right kind of relationship with the Assyrians. | By Rev. Malcolm G. Smith , Bryn Athyn Cathedral

  • Becoming One Flesh

Worship Service: Family (may include music) - 19 May, 2024

In the story of creation, it says that the Lord created male and female and then there is a beautiful phrase near the end the story where the Lord says that the man and his wife shall become one flesh. We will be looking at what it really means to become one flesh in the eyes of the Lord, and how by making males and females wonderfully unique and different, actually allows for the Lord to create a more perfect whole when they are joined together in marriage. | By Rt. Rev. Bradley D. Heinrichs , Bryn Athyn Cathedral

  • Memorial Service for Audrey Merrell Smith

  • Becoming One Flesh

Worship Service: Sermon only - 19 May, 2024

“Becoming One Flesh” In the story of creation, it says that the Lord created male and female and then there is a beautiful phrase near the end of the story where the Lord says that the man and his wife shall become one flesh. We will be looking at what it really means to become one flesh in the eyes of the Lord, and how by making males and females wonderfully unique and different, actually allows for the Lord to create a more perfect whole when they are joined together in marriage. However, some people worry that if a husband and wife seek to become one, then they will inevitably lose their sense of individual identity. We will explore if this is really the case, and whether it is something to worry about! | By Rt. Rev. Bradley D. Heinrichs , Bryn Athyn Cathedral
