The angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream and told him that Mary would give birth to a Son from the Holy Spirit. This would fulfill the prophecy of a virgin conceiving and bearing a Son named “Immanuel,” which means “God with us.” The Lord was born in this world to be “God with us.” But what does this mean for us here and now, when we cannot see His physical body with our eyes or touch Him with our hands? How can we know that He truly is with us?
