Nebuchadnezzar learns humility before the Lord through the loss of his sanity. Our sense of humility before the Lord can be a chief virtue that guides and directs our sense of shame. At the same time, having a community that pegs our sense of shame in relationship to the Lord's values is useful to our spiritual health.
