The Lord Jesus Christ came to us as the Great Prophet. As the prophet He teaches, but also bears the sins of the church by allowing them to act out their rejection of the Word upon Him. This demonstration of the spiritual state of man was not salvation, but an important part of us being able to be saved. We are saved when we go to the Lord and live according to His commandments.
