The medical description of depression attributes the cause of depression and other mood disorders to physical causes including imbalances in brain chemistry. Last week we talked about how the New Church teaches that depression and anxiety can be caused by the spirits around us, and that we can choose to accept their influence on us or not. This week we will explore the tension between the physical and spiritual causes of depression and anxiety.
