There is no genuine charity apart from faith because it is by the truth of faith that the evils of the spirit in one's self are made known, and it is by faith that we are then led to shun those evils interiorly because they are against God and against His divine plan in creation. Only so are we able to approach our neighbor in sincerity and honest good will.
