Description: Are you receptive and open to new ideas? Do you strive to be affirmative when listening to others? The Writings for the New Church talk about the "affirmative principle" (Arcana Coelestia 2568). Most of the passages on this subject talk about our approach to the Word of the Lord, asking us to be affirmative to what we read there. But a more careful consideration of this attitude shows that it applies to all facets of life.
