  • In Our Own Space

Worship Service: Childrens Talk & Adult Sermon - 17 Sep, 2017

Our sermon is based on the famous words of Joshua to the Israelites shortly before he died: "As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord" (Joshua 25:15). Each of us has a public life and private life. For most of us, our private lives center on our homes and the people we live with there. this facet of life also includes our circle of close friends, or the times when we are by ourselves. The Lord urges us to pay attention to the ways we tend to act in our private lives, and to serve Him in this "center" so that our inner qualities, which tend to be exhibited there, become more and more heavenly. | By Rt. Rev. Peter Martin Buss, Jr. , Westville, RSA

  • Searching

Worship Service: Childrens Talk & Adult Sermon - 2 Oct, 2016

We are called by the Lord to be “merchants” in search of pearls. Pearls represent truths from the Lord’s Word, and the pearl of great price stands for knowledge about the Lord Himself. The Lord plants within us a longing called in the Writings for the New Church “the affection for truth.” The more we search in the Word, or talk with others in an effort to discover the great truths about life, the more the Lord will be able to bless us with wisdom. We will come to discover in growing ways what leads to lasting happiness, and feel called to turn to the Lord as the one who can lead us to experience it. | By Rt. Rev. Peter Martin Buss, Jr. , Sarver, PA

  • Living Gratefully 6 – The Gift of Uncertainty

Worship Service: Childrens Talk & Adult Sermon - 13 Mar, 2016

Most of us like to know what is happening and why. We like certainty. But this week, we are talking about the gift of uncertainty. Why does God sometimes seem to be hiding? Why doesn't He clearly show us the path He is leading us on? And how can uncertainty be seen as a gift? His sermon will address those issues. | By Rt. Rev. Peter Martin Buss, Jr. , Westville, RSA
